A psychiatrist visited Tom today and prescribed some anti-depressants which we feel is calming him somewhat. It was just Sal and Gretta at the last visit of the day and they said he seemed more relaxed and sleepy. There’s also a regular visit from a physio now which is also helpful.
Tom has found it difficult to cope with the tubes in his mouth and until today has been distressed in inverse proportion to the level of sedation.
The nurse says the trachaeotomy may be as early as Monday, so we look forward to that as a way that will further alleviate his discomfort.
We had a nice gathering at Emmarentia Dam, despite the inclement weather, and on re-reading the notice I posted yesterday I realise I included NO detail on which dam I was talking about! Apologies if you were waiting patiently at the Vaal!
