It’s the final countdown … only 6 more sleeps!
Just some last-minute info that is important for those who are attending the event in Richmond Park on Saturday, 12th September. Our meeting place is the ISABELLA PLANTATION CAR PARK, from 0930 hrs.

FIRSTLY – There are some lovely silicone wrist bands that have been sent to me (thanks Peta-Jane) – these are inscribed with the most beautiful and inspirational diction and will be available for purchase – £2 each. All funds raised, once the cost of production has been covered, will be put towards Tom’s wheelchair fund.
SECONDLY – Sal has asked if we can have the colour YELLOW for our event. I thought this was rather apt, especially with Tom’ s love of cycling and the obvious links of the yellow jersey with the Tour de France! So if you have something yellow (even a canary!) bring it along, attach it firmly to yourself (especially if you are bringing the canary!!) and follow the rest of the yellow participants!
THIRDLY – Following some rather deep debate, we have decided that we cannot legally and ethically charge an ‘entrance fee’ as such. It has been agreed that ‘donations’ will be accepted, with a suggested donation of £5 for individuals and £15 for group participants (groups of up to 4 people).
FINALLY – On a more sombre and careful note, we have Health and Safety (yes, I hear you all SIGH!). This is a necessary point to cover, so please be tolerant and read the following disclaimer carefully.
DISCLAIMER: The organisers of this event, England’s Show of Strength, are not linked to any charity or charitable organisation. We do not have insurance cover for this event and have therefore done all that we possibly and humanly can to make this a safe event for all participants. As a result, we wish all participants to understand and know that each individual is responsible for his or her own health and safety (and the Health and Safety of their children or other family members) at all times. Richmond Park is a PUBLIC space and we will be sharing this space with other people and vehicles. Due care and caution should be exercised at all times and respect shown towards everyone. Qualified1st Aiders will be attending the event and, although off-duty from their respective jobs, are willing and able to offer basic assistance if required.

Yellow is also the colour of healing. I know the UK won’t have access to the Tom T-shirts so that’s why I suggested wearing yellow. Have a blast guys….

We (11 of us including 5 young children) are coming just to show support, donate, have a picnic lunch and meet up with everybody – but not cycle. If we arrive later, will there still be somebody at the car park? If not, where should we go?

Dear rosemary and family,
Excellent news – it will be so lovely to have you there to support. There will be a yellow flag flying to highlight the carpark and someone will be in place to welcome you to the event. You do not have to cycle – there will be a lovely walk you can do and just having you there will be great. Love Gretta
