I slowed down today. Stuck my wheelchair on its slowest speed for the morning. Although I didn’t go around much, the result was astounding. A quantum leap in observation. I noticed pot plants in my office that I didn’t know I had, mannerisms in other people jumped out at me. The world seemed to move in quick time around me. My thought processes seemed clearer, my priorities realigned. I felt more efficient.
The tortoise against the hare.
try it.

Slow down ??? SLOW DOWN ?????? Now, Tom .. you are sounding like my husband! I will say to you what I have said to him …. ‘I will slow down when … (the washing is done, the house cleaned, the project complete, the article is written …)’ But even as I say it, I can hear your response – a patient and calm voice telling me that I am missing out on the beautiful things in life. I promise, this afternoon, I will slow down. I will walk to my grandparents house to see them (instead of taking the quick route .. the car!). I will stop a while with them and have a cup of tea (oh so English!) and I will take the rest of the afternoon and evening …. s l o w !! On one condition – you watch the sunset and remind us of that beautiful African scene with your next blog. Hugs Lyn x
