Hi Nick. Gay & Peter Bourhill are hoping to visit Tom next week probably on Wednesday. We arrive in Polokwane Monday eve. Our car will be ‘in dock’ Tuesday. Then we hope to go to Pretoria Wed 9 Sept. Should we call you when we get to Polokwane to arrange a visit with Tom? Can you give us your number? Cheers for now Gay & Peter

We had the pleasure of visiting Tom & Sal in Muelmed Medi-Clinic Gym on Tuesday 9 September. Tom had an hour long session with Melanie Skeen who is well known for her research into stem cell treatment. We also met Michelle. The atmosphere in the gym, which was quite busy, was one of absolute determination, inspiration & happiness. We were encouraged to participate, ask questions, talk to Tom & just be there for him & Sal. Melanie gave Tom a good work out & they seem already to have a wonderful working rapport. This section of the Clinic was very visitor friendly & we were made to feel most welcome. The way forward right now seems to be to build up the muscles and basically “wake up Tom’s body” from it’s sleep so that he can function again. He was in good spirits, very chatty & keen to get on with the task. He felt faint at the end of the session but the wheelchair ride back to his 4-bed ward sorted that. No sleeping yet, Melanie kept him in the wheelchair a little longer to get his body used to the idea of being upright. Such a positive visit and so glad we made the effort from Polokwane. The Clinic is very easy to find in the main street Pretorius. Thank you Tom & Sal PS. Will get the photos posted soon
